The late blooming Calendula certainly brightens up the fall garden.
In summer I would take these flowers forgranted but now they
make me stop and take note of them.
I'm thankful for diversity in nature.
This Blue Jay seems to be playing peek-a-boo.
Thank-you,God for little things
that come unexpectedly,
To brighten up a dreary day
that dawned so dismally.
It's hard to be downcast when I look at the beauty around me.
A lone Western Meadowlark.
I'm sure he will be heading south soon.
Here is one of Jake's pictures, taken at the small creek just west of town.
Actually this creek helps to feed our lake from which the
town of Morden gets all it's water.
These are such wonderful pictures - so colourful! I like your photos of the Blue Jay and Meadowlark in their natural settings - I do remember the Meadowlark from when I lived in Manitoba. Its spring song is very beautiful. The creek area looks like a nice place to explore.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful autumn pictures. I find Blue Jays very difficult to photograph. I do like the red leaf picture a lot.
ReplyDeleteYou both take such lovely pictures it is always a pleasure to stop by.
ReplyDeleteFor every thing there is a season,
I enjoy my calendulas most in winter when their orange glows against the green and not much else is about.
I adore your birds, either you have a lens from here to the moon or a quiet heart so they let you near, I suspect the latter.
God bless you and yours.
Thank-you,Arija.About my lens,it is a 120-400mm lens.A little cropping on Photoshop Elements also helps. And ,yes at times it takes a quiet heart.Blessings.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all for your comments.
Your pictures are wonderful! You don't have to look very far even this time of year to find beauty. That red leaf is very striking against the rock, and that creek is quite similar to the one that runs behind our home.
ReplyDeleteHave a super day!
Yes, amidst all of the world problems, it is the 'little things' in life that keep us going. Thanks for sharing!!!! I needed that!
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty! I love the meadowlark on the fence, but each one of these is a perfect bit of beauty preserved! The little things are what make the big things wonderful. God is so good and what a beautiful world he has given us!
ReplyDeleteI love that photo of the Calendula!
ReplyDeleteCalendula! That's the name I was trying to remember for we have some still in bloom still, also.
ReplyDeleteYour text is wonderful and rings so true. I take a lot of peace from nature. Jake's photo at the end is a treasure. Your blog is full of beauty and great photography.
