Years of Growth

This picture taken by Jake in our local park
reminded me of Psalms 1
"Blessed is the person who does not
follow the advice of wicked people ...
He is like a tree planted beside streams ...
He succeeds in everything he does.
Verses 1 + 3
This old tree has succeeded just by being in the right place.

  2. Beautiful perspective! Nicely done Jake. I think this lovely tree has put down good roots.

  3. And so right too.
Nice view up, you could just about run up it's hide like a squirrel.
It looks like a granddaddy Elm and has an even more beautiful shape when naked - showing off it's beauty against the sky or it's shadow on the snow.

  4. Looking up a tree's trunk is something I do but not lightly. It is almost like a sacred thing to me. All the years it took to get up there and that it has no feet or legs to move it if danger approaches. That is stands tall is a tribute to it standing there.

  5. Lovely and so fitting for that Psalm! We need the "Living Water" to grow strong :-)

  9. We have a couple of big old Maples along our driveway that look the same way when I look up so perhaps they are about the same decade or so. Our trees though are now all bare branches and their leaves are all over my lawn.

  10. This is such a cool photo! We have many trees like this one near us, and I often look up the trunk like your picture. The colors are perfect.
About my header. At the bottom of the hill is a fast running creek, ( great for finding fossels)and also a really neat home on the banks of the creek. The owners keep the small yard manicured so nicely. You can't see it till you're at the foot of the hill. Some day I'll take a picture of it. On the top of the other side is a super view of Lake Erie.
    Have a wondefuul week-end.
