Snow Scenes

Sunbeams streaming through the evergreens. In the beauty of the snowflake, Falling softly on the land, Is the mystery and miracle Of God's creative hand! Heavy hoar frost on this pine cone looks sharp yet is so delicate. More hoar frost, pretty against the green.
An icicle slowly melting away,or is it growing.
These pictures are not current(taken several years ago)but still pretty.

Thank you so much for sharing the beauty and magnificance of creation with us. I know you do not do this to receive prase from anyone, but for those of us who do not get to witness these things it is such a treat and joy to see. Thank you for sharing your talent!

  2. Wow---what great pictures Ruth...I love the icicles along with the snow on the evergreens. I also liked the pine cone one. We got a tiny bit of snow (VERY LITTLE) last night--but nothing as gorgeous as you have. Thanks!!

  6. Another great post. I am NOT ready for this winter. Think it is going to be a real cold one. With global warming and all. :)

  7. Fantastic pictures. It is some years since we had snow, so I'm hoping that this year will be different as it is Milou's favourite time, his little legs get bogged down and he rolls himself in the snowdrifts and ends up the snow white dog he should be. Plus I intend to take pictures to rival these beauties.

  8. Ruth, You have captured some really interesting and beautiful shots. I love close ups of nature. I so enjoy all the linear patterns that one doesn't see from a far. That pine cone photo is super! Thanks for sharing!!

  9. Your front on close up of the pine is very beautiful. It is an angle I shall try too. Still no snow here but there may be some in the forecast for tomorrow. Hope not though.

  21. Brrrr! ...and we thought it got cold in New Jersey. I don't recall seeing hoar frost quite as thick and sharp as that.
    Expecting light snow here tomorrow.
I love the sun shining through the snow-covered trees.
