This is a scene from years ago taken south of our town of Morden.
Heavy hoar frost ewverywhere.
And more frost to decorate the trees.
The sighting of a Cardinal in our area is rare.
We were blest to see one several years ago.
This bird was at a feeder in our rural area.
Snowy Owls are usually present in winter.
A beautiful bird!
All of the above pictures were taken by Jake many years before the digital age.
This is the day to marvel as you discover a bit of God
in people,in nature and in happenings.
Very beautiful Ruth, as always.

I will now dream of that beautiful snowy owl and your beautiful snowy wonderland!
ReplyDeletePerfect pictures Ruth! The white of winter with achingly blue sky, it takes my breath away.
ReplyDeleteThe snowy owls make me giddy. I saw my first and only snowy two winters ago in Duluth, Minnesota. It was my MOST thrilling bird sighting.
Ruth,
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have a great selection of remarkable pictures. How long have you and Jake been photographers? I will send you several cardinals if you will send me one snowy owl! Gorgeous bird! Oh how I would love to see this bird. ;-)
I saw my first Snowy Owl last winter and we had to drive over an hour away to see it. We have plenty of Cardinals here in Southern Ontario, but in my grandmother's day there were none. Their territory has expanded in the past 50 years. Lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful winter Wonderland you have captured - complete with a wise white owl!
ReplyDeleteThanks for postin Jake's wonderful pictures. We lost 25 yrs. worth of photos in the fire and the sad thing for me is that they had all our wonderful snow shots from Canada, Vermont, Switzerland Austria and Germany and now when I need them for my posts there is nothing to fall back on. I posted a poem last night where I had no hope of finding the right pics to illustrate it. I was a bit sad about that. At least I got the poem written.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are gorgeous Ruth and Jake. That frost is spectacular! I don't believe I've ever seen it thick like that. The last one of the pine trees reminds me of a scene from Dr. Zhivago.
ReplyDeleteMagnificant shots of the Snowy Owl. Who would know it wasn't digital.
Snowy Owls are on my list of "most want to see birds"....so beautiful! I would never get tired of looking at one. Astonishing! All of these photos are lovely...such beautiful scenes. God's glory shines in all of this!
ReplyDeleteEach of these cards make wonderful Christmas greetings. Beautiful. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteBreathtakingly Beautiful - Praise the Lord! Nothing like a freshly down snow and it clinging to everything. And the snowy Owl...Oh my, wish I could see one in person, but thanks for sharing yours.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! The snowy owl is my favorite. I've never seen one before.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of winter landscapes that look like paintings! Beautiful pictures of the Cardinal and Snowy Owl, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures -- thanks for sharing!
