Let's Go For A Walk

So,I prepared this post a little while ago, but the pictures, really are from the end of August, and I am still happy that you are here to enjoy this walk with me.
~~~~~~~~~~
It's a warm, pleasant and sunny day in the very end of August.A perfect day to go for a morning walk.I am happy that you came along with me.Let's see what kind of beauty we find along the Lake Minniwasta Trail,at least along part of the trail.
As we walk down the path, this is what we see. May be nothing that spectacular, but just to be out in the calming beauty of nature is wonderful.
The sunlight hits these leaves and turns them into something that catches our eye.Simple,yet pretty.
Oh look! Do you see how lovely that tree, dressed in fall splendour looks against the blue Manitoba sky? It is worth stopping to take it all in.
We continue on down the trail.You can just see a glimpse of the lake through the trees. We do have to be alert as often a cyclist or two may be cruising through on this trail as well.
Some more leaves, highlighted by the sunshine.As we all along, we can hear birds twittering high in the branches of the trees.Beautiful music to accompany us on our walk.
We've reached a point where we can clearly see the lake.No boats on it today so it is very calm. Notice the changing leaves on the trees.
Time passes quickly and the morning is almost done, so we turn around and make our way back to the car. But let's not be in too big a hurry.Let's just drink in all the beauty around us.Sometimes a fence is put up to keep animals in, this time it was put there to keep motorized vehicles out.
In my opinion they did a fine job of erecting this fence.It blends in well with the surroundings.
We are almost back at the car, but stop to take another look over the lake. Notice that someone has launched his boat and is quietly fishing.
Just behind us, stands my car, ready to take us home or maybe out for another look somewhere.My Facebook friends will recognize this rock.I had posted it and someone mentioned it looked like a giant turtle.I agree.How about you?
Later that same day,after we have relaxed and had some supper, we get back into my car and go for a little drive.The evening light makes everything look extra lovely.
See how the sun highlights those yellow leaves and makes them almost glow.
I have very much enjoyed your company today. I hope you feel refreshed and even blessed to have been out in the beauty of nature.
Sunset Diversity
It's a busy week for me, watching National Quartet Convention from Pigeon Forge,Tennessee. No,I'm not there in person, but watching live streaming.Thankfully,I had prepared a few posts ahead of time so I will share this now.
As you all know,I love watching the sky and what better time to do that, than at sunset.
Each sunset has beauty but each one if different.Sometimes even thirty minutes or more can change the look of a sunset.
I will show these starting from the most recent to the older ones.
Taken on September 13,2018,just west of Morden.
A Lake Minniwasta sunset onSeptember 11,2018
Sometimes the most unexpected results appear in a picture.This is also September 11,2018.I like the flares that happened as a result of shooting directly into the sun.
September 1,2018, at 7:06pm,looking west.
September 1,2018, at 7:31pm,looking northwest.
Both pictures taken from the exact same location, just looking a slightly different direction. Both taken from the east side of Lake Minniwasta.
Something to Think About:
Regarding age-
In God’s eyes the sunset is just as beautiful as the sunrise.
It’s up to us to live as though we believe it.
English Garden Flowers
It is. a cloudy and cool fall days perhaps some cheery flowers are in order.These were taken on September 1st of this year.
I just had to make another trip to Winnipeg and The English Gardens.There is always beauty to be found there.
A simple, single rose highlighted by the sun, makes for a pretty picture.
This large Dahlia was eye-catching.
Another Dahlia,a little smaller, but so bright,I had to take notice of it.
I think these Dahlias look so neat and tidy and yet they have such an impact.Just look at those neatly arranged petals!
No,not a flower with petals, but rather one with wings. The Monarch Butterfly is a sight to behold. This one had a tag on it's wing.
A little bit of patience paid off as it finally sat and opened it's wings so I could get this picture.
The old-fashioned Zinnia,is a pretty as any flower.
The Ruby-throated Hummingbirds were busy, but these two seemed to have some sort of disagreement. I gave me an opportunity for some pictures, for which I was thankful.
Something To Think About:
Life is full of Beautiful Things
….soft sunrise,cool winds,
pretty flowers,quiet moments,
love and laughter and good friends like you.
Signs of Fall
It is only the middle of September,but all signs point towards fall.
I'm OK with that.Fall brings cooler temperatures,colorful leaves, even if only for a short time.
Warm sweaters and cozy blankets. Yes,I really do enjoy fall.
I even enjoy those chilly, rainy days.
Today we will look at some of the early signs of fall in Southern Manitoba.
These pictures are all taken several weeks ago,so we are much further into the fall scene by now.
Ok,so this may or may not be a sign of fall, but those white clouds in a blue sky are always pretty.
Blooming Goldenrod is a sign that fall is on our doorstep and about to enter. I think this is a lovely flower/weed.
A friends apple tree was loaded with these small, but pretty apples.I'm not sure they are edible, but they sure do look attractive.
Touches of fall color can be seen here and the fields are showing that golden color as well.
Golden fields, freshly harvested and already the straw has been baled.To me this is a simple but lovely scene.
The trees around Lake Minniwasta are certainly showing color.
Looking down,I see a golden leaf amoung the grass.
Another shot of Lake Minniwasta and some yellow leaves.
Purple Asters put on quite a show in fall.
Another Goldenrod,in a later stage of its bloom.
Something To Think About:
Falling leaves are simply summer’s way of saying good-bye.
Fall Birds Of Manitoba
In my last post, we looked to the heavens, to see the beauty displayed there.Today,we come a little closer to earth, still in the sky, at least for some of the shots.
I have loved birds for a very long time and still do.Sometimes they can be a challenge to photograph, but I keep on trying.
The diminutive Black-capped Chickadee,may be one of the easiest to photograph, at least if you offer some food or water.
The Red-tailed Hawk,on the other hand is usually not very cooperative.Well,this bird proved that to be wrong.He/she was perched on a road sign, just at the edge of the road and I was stopped on the road, across from him. Many shots later,I left with the bird still remaining  on it's perch.
Same bird as the one above, slightly different editing.
As the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds were preparing to head south, they came to the feeder regularly.This gave me many chances to get a picture.Of course,I would have loved to see an adult male with the ruby gorget/throat,but had to be content with this one.
I had virtually no Baltimore Orioles in spring, but they sure loved the nectar feeder in early fall.Once again,I had many chances for photos. I will spare you the agony of scrolling through too many pictures and just share one.
Something To Think About:
I’ve never found time spent amongst nature to be a waste of time.
The Heavens Declare
This a post with photos of various sunsets where I will allow The Bible to speak.
These verses are taken from Psalm 19:1-6
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun,
which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is hidden from its heat.
( Not a sunset, but the sun has ripened the grain)
