Morden's Corn and Apple Festival - Part 3

Part three of the Festival and I will share some items which were special to me.

We all know that at a festival the food plays a very important part.There are lots of burger and french fry places,but this group serves up a delicious barbecued beef,baked potato and coleslaw.

Here you can see the giant barbecue they use,and by the way,these men do the hard work.Way to go guys.

Here is a look at the menu and prices.

Of course no festival would be complete without the Mini Donuts.This was one of several places where they were available,and yes,I did have some and they were GOOD.

This is another place I whole heartily endorse.  Spenst Bros. is a family run business and not only do they serve delicious pizza and burgers,but they love the Lord as well.Dad is in the background cooking up the burgers.He and his children also sing well together.

 I am thrilled to see that so many are letting their lights shine,even during the festival,or should I say,especially during the festival.

I like these sun catchers and would love to have a few hanging in my window.

Churches are well represented on the street.

Hillside Community Church served some of the most delicious homemade cinnamon buns I have had in a long time. YUMMY!!!

My church,the Morden EMMC (Evangelical Mennonite Mission Church) served fresh waffles with vanilla pudding and strawberries on them.These were also very tasty.

The sign on the side indicates that any funds raised would go to help a mission project in Kenya,Africa.

This is another church booth. They have had the tradition for many years to serve fresh Borsht.The recipe was first made by one of their members,Mr.Abe Thiessen,who has since passed on,but the tradition lives on. A huge cooking pt is on the outside of the building and the Borsht really is cooked fresh each day.

I saw this sign on a booth representing our belief in creation as told in the Bible.

 Child Evangelism  makes sure every year that the children can get their faces painted while listening to a Bible story.

I love to see those flags proudly displayed.

A local Bible Camp clearly displayed what they are standing for.I am so thankful that we have the freedom to do this.

If you look closely at the banner being carried by these two,you will notice that I no longer live in a 'town',but rather in the City of Morden. The 'City' status was announced Friday night at just before one of the Headline performances. I don't know if that will affect my life in any way,but at least I am now a city girl. Yeah!!!

 I promise,this is the last picture.Our festival closed on Sunday with the whole day being dedicated to Gospel music and preaching from the free stage.

The Browns sang for almost two hours. This family can sing,play the violins and guitar.

It was a time a blessing and even though I was so tired,it ended too soon.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the Corn and Apple Festival through my eyes.It will happen again next year during the last full weekend in August.
