I invite you to join me as we walk along with Jake through the winter scenes.
Pull on a warm jacket, perhaps a hat and scarf,oh and don't forget the heavy winter boots.
We will step back several years to see winter through Jake's camera lens,
shooting slide film.
All these pictures were taken in southern Manitoba.
Take note of the hoar frost on the barbed-wire fence.
This is Jake's younger brother taking a flying leap off the snowdrift.
Here is our son Steve, playing on the large drifts on our yard.
A scenic view of the countryside.
Here we are coming into Morden from the west.
The highway looks a mess.
Another look at rural Manitoba.
Notice the sharp edge of the snowdrift in the forground.
This old hay rake is not used any more, but looks good in a picture.
Frost covered seeds still clinging to the branches.
This is a winter wonderland.
Every blade of grass and twig on the trees is covered in a heavy hoar frost.
This is a small pond which looks like it is not frozen over,
so even though there is snow on the ground it can't be too cold.
Around our area there are lots of little trails through the valleys.this is one of those.
Just see what a difference a sunny day makes.
Back to more grey skies and lots of snow.
The walking in this area might be a little tough as the snow is pretty deep.
Once again we look out over the countryside.
The warm rays of the sunny melt some of the snow, creating these icicles.
Be exalted ,O God above the heavens.
Psalm 108:5
