On Sunday Jake and I went to Winnipeg,looking for photo opportunities.
We saw lots of Canada Geese,some Mallards and a few Gulls.
At our last stop in Assiniboine Park,we went to our favorite place,
the English Gardens,not expecting much activity.
A few minutes after our arrival,guess who flew to a nearby tree?
This Red-bellied Woodpecker was a pleasant surprise.
Our last sighting of one was in 1990.
In chatting with a fellow birder,he said that he had never seen one
in this park before.
We plan to go back there tomorrow and hope the woodpecker shows up again.
The earth is the Lord's and all the fullness thereof.
