My Weekly Bird ABC

The letter 'B' was easy except that I had to choose which
pictures to post and which to leave.
The first three photos are by Ruth,
the remaining ones are Jake's work.
Bird number one is a common one here in summer,
the Blue Winged Teal can be seen on most lakes and water ways.
A summer would not be complete without this charming little guy.
the Black-and-white Warbler.
This birds name is easy to remember, just look at the color of the bird.
Last summer we had the chance to shoot Barn Swallows.
These birds are so often in flight that it was a treat to have one pose like this. Here is a bird that is always a thrill to see. The Bald Eagle, perhaps the most well recognized bird of all.
We don't always see this bird,so it is a treat when we have a photo shoot with one.
The Blackburnian Warbler is so bright and colorful.
The little bird with a black cap is none other than a Blackpoll Warbler. I enjoy most of the birds, but this one is among my favorites.
The flash of color from a male Baltimore Oriole is what I wait for each spring.
We have had as many as 14 of the Orioles in one tree feeding on oranges,
what a sight.
Some people refer to this bird as the 'skunk' bird. I prefer it's real name of Bobolink. They prefer open grasslands for nesting. A belted Kingfisher is a bird you won't forget once you see and hear it. The bad hair day is normal, and they have a chatter call in flight. Take time to enjoy God's created world.
