The Varied Looks Of One Sunset

On June 30, I headed out to capture the sunset, as I frequently do.

What I am sharing today is what I witnessed that evening.

No two sunsets are the same and even during the setting of the sun, the scene can change quite dramatically.

Lake Minniwasta is so often my go to place to capture sunset photos. Come and join me as we sit and enjoy the scenes unfold before us.

The bright orange didn't last very long. The sky has subdued colors, yet still a beauty that has to be experienced to truly appreciate it.

While we wait for the colors to fade, we take a look into the reflections on the lake. Soft, subdued and so pretty.

The sun has set below the horizon and the colors turn from orange to pinks and purples.
I love that soft glow.

I hope you enjoyed spending a few moments with me today. I appreciate your company.

Think About This:

God loves showing up on unexpected ways,

At unexpected times.

Some Of My Favorites

These are not the most recent pictures. All of these were taken earlier this year.

I love cloud scenes, as you all know by now. Those towering thunderheads are majestic in their own way.

Sometimes it's the huge thunderheads and at other times it can be those delicate flowers of spring or early summer.

This is obviously the same type of flower, but shot at a different angle. I like the softness of this image.

Sunset and calm water a perfect combination. To look at this you would not likely think marsh, but it is indeed at the Kaleida Marsh.

I am not a farmer, actually as a child I very strongly disliked the three cows my parents kept for milking. I still don't care to be very close to these animals, but I do find their behaviour fascinating. When I stopped the car at this spot, it didn't take long for all of them to line up facing me.

Something To Think About:

Loving God, thank You for being my Shepherd and for making me lie down in green pastures to refresh my soul.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Today, I have paired some of my photos with the lyrics of an old hymn, Great Is Thy Faithfulness.

Be blessed as you read these words and enjoy the photos.

"Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father

There is no shadow of turning with Thee

Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not

As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest

Sun, moon and stars in their courses above

Join with all nature in manifold witness

To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth

Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide

Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow

Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside

Great is Thy faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness

Morning by morning, new mercies I see

All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided

Great is Thy faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness

Lord, unto me"

Amen.

Truly, God's faithfulness is great and never-ending.

As we ponder on these thoughts let's give praise to God.

Beauty All Around

As most of you are already aware, I tend to post pictures that have been captured some time ago. Oh well, The content is still something that caught my eye, so wether taken today or a month or two ago, it doesn't matter.

Many times I don't even have to leave my yard to find a beautiful scene. This greeted me one morning as I looked out of the door.

Sometimes, the birds actually cooperate with me, as this Upland Sandpiper proves. The warm evening light was just perfect.

When the Wild Roses are in bloom, I must capture more images. I think this is such a pretty flower and the fact that Jake dug up the original little plant for me, makes it even more special. Oh, and having the wasp/bee visit at just that moment was also good.

The east shore of Lake Minniwasta is about a two mile drive from my house, so I go there often. Many evenings the sunset is just that, a sunset, nothing spectacular, but occasionally it is gorgeous.

I love how the wispy clouds turn a brilliant pink after the sun has set. Always some beauty to be found.

Something to Think About:

What  is down in the well of the heart,

Will come up in the bucket of words.
